The raw materials of textiles mainly include various types of fibers, which can be made into various fabrics through textile processing. The following are some common textile raw materials for everyone:
1. Natural fibers:
Cotton: Cotton fiber is one of the most common textile materials and is used to make all types of fabrics, from T-shirts to bed sheets.
Flax: Flax fiber comes from the stem of the flax plant, and the fabric made usually has good air permeability and moisture absorption.
Wool: Wool fibers come from sheep's wool, and the fabrics made are usually warm.
Silk: Silk fiber comes from silk of silk worm, silk fabric has luster and softness.
In addition to natural silk, there are some other plant and animal sources of fiber, such as grass, vines, feathers and so on.
2. Man-made fibers:
Polyester: Polyester is one of the most common man-made fibers, with durability and ease of care.
Viscose fiber: such as rayon (artificial viscose fiber).
Artificial cotton: such as modal and nickel, they have soft, moisture absorption, breathable and other characteristics.
Polyester: Polyester fiber is commonly used in sports clothing and outdoor equipment because of its fast drying and abrasion resistance.
Phenolic fiber: such as chemical fiber, commonly used for special purposes, such as flame retardant clothing.
3. Synthetic fibers:
Nylon: Nylon fiber has high strength and abrasion resistance, and is widely used in making socks, tights and outdoor clothing.
Spandex: Spandex (elastic fiber) has excellent stretchability and elasticity and is used for elastic and tight clothing.
Polypropylene: Polypropylene fiber has waterproof properties and is often used in sports and outdoor clothing.
Acetate fiber: such as acetate fiber and triacetate fiber, is soft and hygroscopic.
These fibers can be used alone or mixed together to make different types of fabrics through textile processing methods. The characteristics of the fabric, such as hand, texture, warmth, moisture absorption and breathability, often depend on the raw materials used. According to different needs and uses, clothing manufacturers can choose different types of fiber raw materials to meet the requirements of their products.
